This Note, referred to as "Madman scribbles #1" in the journal and previously called "Scribblings of a Madman", is a quest item in chapter 1 of Darkwood. It is the first page of the half-torn piece of paper containing the madman's scribbles.
Obtaining[]
Written by the Pig Farmer, the note can be found beside a searchable bed on the floor of his barn just across the Mayor's House in the Silent Forest village. It can then be picked up and examined in the journal.
Content[]
The content of the note is the first part of the "Madman scribbles". It appears to be a diary entry that reveals some details about the Sow and its connection with the villagers, in addition to other disturbing sketches on the page.
The note reads:
Along with the aforementioned content of the scribblings, two digits of what appears to be the first half of the four-digit code can also be seen and are randomized on the right side of the note, suggesting the second page contains the other half. The full passcode unlocks the code-locked crate in the barn of the Forest village containing an assortment of high-tier random loot, as well as the photo of the sow.
Trivia[]
- Due to the interior of the barn being rather poorly lit and the fact that the note is a piece of prop on the floor that can be picked up, it is likely for the player to miss out on this note and therefore not be able to obtain the first half of the randomized code.
- However, the full code can be cracked through brute force by obtaining the second half of the code, so the player will only need to punch in 100 numbers from 00 to 99 for the code's first two digits.
