| Bug Nests|
Silent Forest Entry
|Attack type||No attacks|
|Notes||Able to spread worms in hideout at night.|
Huge Bugs are defenseless, passive creatures in Darkwood.
They are found mostly around Bug Nests. Of special note is that they are known to cause Worms in the Hideout at night if they find an opening in the building to crawl through. If the player approaches a huge bug around Bug Nests, it will attempt to retreat into the nearest hole.
Huge bugs drop Shells.
With a short sprint and quick attack, it is possible to kill a huge bug with just a melee weapon. Alternatively, the player can also use a cheap ranged item such as a Bottle to kill a bug from a distance.
Huge bugs can also be driven out from their holes by setting them on fire, which may also ignite the fleeing bug.
Night Event Edit
- One of the Alpha updates removed bugs appearing on Hideout 1, instead introducing their mechanics to the player on the Cottage (A), which was later changed into Silent Forest Entry.
- Developers will often refer to Huge Bugs as "Spiders" in the changelogs, despite naming them Huge Bugs in the game and game files.
