|Notes||Involved in Mushroom Granny's questline.|
If the Sow has been killed and the Village has not been exterminated, the Villagers will have cut a path through the trees into the Swamp, and a large amount of Villagers will be found camping here, most of them sick, infected and starving.
As of Alpha 9, a large boulder, supported upon a cliffside by many large wooden logs, was added at the entrance to the Quarry. Destroying the logs will cause the boulder to roll down into the entrance, blocking the way and cutting off the Villagers inside from the rest of the Swamp, and dooming them to die.

If the Protagonist chooses to do nothing when Mushroom Granny, upon their first meeting, asks him what he wants, then she will ask that he eliminates the villagers, since they attempted raiding her house in their craving for Mushrooms. Notably, several of them appear to be in a semi-delusional state all around her house, some being borderline catatonic, and one having been murdered with a rock.
Upon arriving at the quarry, the player may eavesdrop on a pair of villagers to find out more about their situation. Should he decide to kill all villagers located there (including the ones incapable of standing up due to sickness[unconfirmed]), then Mushroom Granny's quest will be completed, allowing the player to rescue the Child.
The player may also use the boulder mentioned above to satisfy the requirements of Mushroom Granny's questline.
