Shrines are two minor locations in Darkwood. First one is located in the Dry Meadow and the second one in the Silent Forest. Shrines are a waypoint locations that have no use other than being a marker on the map, allowing the player to find his current location.

Appearance[]

Shrines are located near small, faded paths and are surrounded by an old, small fence that has fallen over. Both of the Shrines were destroyed and are now laying on the ground. It appears that, within a radius of around 20m around a Shrine, a Shiny Stone can always be found.

The Shrine located in the Dry Meadow is bigger. It is standing on a column and is topped with a triangular roof covered with tiles. It has a figure of Saint Mary inside it and a cross, which has detached from the roof, laying next to the top of the Shrine. A single passive Savage (Rock) can be found dallying around next to this shrine. If approached, it will quickly scuttle away.

The Shrine from the Silent Forest is smaller and much simpler in design, it does not have the figure nor the cross. It is made out of bricks as they can be seen from under the plaster in the top part of the Shrine. Some bricks have broken off and lay under and around the Shrine. There's no creatures near it.

Trivia[]

  • Due to the Christian background Shrines like these are often found in Poland, especially near small villages or mountain trails.
